Almost ready to leave

Our site at Milton Heights on a snowy December 11
In another three days we will be embarking on our sixth cross-country trip to Southern California. Weather permitting, we will leave on Wednesday morning.
We have been parked for five weeks in a 50 amp site at Milton Heights Campground, on the west edge of Milton, Ontario, which is close to the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Our stay here has been a pleasant one, apart from my three-times-a-week commute back to Barrie, to finish up my teaching contract at the college.

The last week has been cold, with nighttime temperatures down to -6C (20F). We are running from our on-board water tank, refilling every couple of days from the winter-resistant water supply in the campground. Everything is ready to go, diesel tanks are full, all checks are complete. We simply need to secure the interior items, pull in the slides, hitch to the truck, and go.

Our stay in the Milton area has been most enjoyable. One thing we love about this lifestyle is that we can sample new surroundings and still be home. We have discovered restaurants, coffee shops and other amenities that are new to us.

Milton Heights Campground is a welcoming place, well-managed, with good winterized utilities, very friendly staff and a couple of delightful campground felines that greet visitors to the office. We will return here for one night in May when we return from California, to pick up our Honda Civic which we are storing here.
