Natchez, Mississippi

We spent last night in a great Passport America park in Vidalia, LA, which is just across the Mississippi River from Natchez, which is the southern terminus of the Natchez Trace.

The park lists the following on their website:

"The River View RV Park not only sits on the original settlement of Vidalia Louisiana it also overlooks the Historic City of Natchez, Ms. We offer the very best of both worlds, the best view of the river and it's wonderful bluffs located on the Natchez Ms. side of the river. Whether you take a long walk on the Vidalia River Walk or you just sit and watch the Historic Paddle Boats of the Mississippi Delta pass by you will enjoy the serene view and beauty of our location."

We wish we had a few days to spend here. Vidalia and Natchez look like very interesting towns, steeped in the history of the Mississippi delta. However, we need to get through the dreaded Houston traffic on Sunday morning, so we are leaving today for Turtle Bayou RV Park in Wallisville, Texas.
