Benson to Las Cruces

Another 228 miles eastbound

We stayed in Benson for an additional day, making three days total. Thunderstorms and heavy rain passed through the area on Sunday, so we decided to take the extra day, rather than drive in the heavy rain. Also, I had some online business stuff to take care of (Ontario Automation Services).


We had a wonderful relaxing drive to Las Cruces on Monday. A nice steady tailwind from the west pushed us along, and Duramax didn't need to work quite as hard on this journey, and rewarded us with almost 12mpg. We pulled into Coachlight Motel and RV Park around 2pm, after changing from MST to MDT as we entered New Mexico (Arizona does not use Daylight Savings Time).
