A chronicle of the travels of David and Denise Smith, living the RV lifestyle in Barrie, Ontario, and Aguanga, California, and on our journey between these places. We will be posting regularly as we travel, and when we experience things of interest to the RV community. Check back here frequently, as this blog is ongoing, and please leave comments.

The Hill Country
The distance east-to-west across Texas, along Interstate 10, is about 880 miles (1400km). We are now at the 540 mile point, in the Hill Country northwest of San Antonio.
We drove 340 miles today, across mostly empty desert which gradually became flat, grassy plains, then quite hilly as we passed Junction, which is the northern limit of the Hill Country. The drive was uneventful, which is always good. Take a look at this 45 second video taken at a rest stop, which shows the vastness of the landscape.
We are here for three nights at Cowboy Capital RV Park, which is in Pipe Creek, 20 miles west of Boerne. Our usual stop in Boerne, Top of the Hill RV Resort, is no longer Passport America affiliated, and the three day stay would have cost $120. Our cost in this Passport America park is $44 for three days. We are mindful of our budget when on the road. We like to save money on the overnight stops, and go out for the occasional nice meal in a fine restaurant, which we intend to do tomorrow in Boerne.
