On the road again!

After three wonderful months at The Ranch, we are finally rolling again. We left Aguanga CA, and traveled to Yuma AZ, a distance of 175 miles.

Hooked up and ready to go
Empty Lot 549. We will be back next January
Walkaround inspection of the rig before leaving the resort
We drove via the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and stopped for lunch in Borrego Springs. The descent into Borrego on Road S22 was interesting with the rig, and I wanted to try it. The road goes from an elevation of 4000 feet down to almost sea level in a distance of 8 miles, but it is an excellent road and the numerous bends are well signposted. The exhaust brake in second gear held the rig at a safe speed, with minimal brake applications for the tighter bends.

After lunch, we continued on Road S22 east to the Salton Sea at Salton City, and turned south on CA86. We were soon at the I-8 intersection near El Centro, and it was an easy drive eastbound along the Mexico border to Yuma.

We are overnight at Arizona Sands RV Park, a favorite Passport America stop. Yuma in April is almost deserted. The winter crowds have returned home, and things are very quiet.

  2. That's the way to travel; short jaunts each day. Be safe 😊

    1. Welcome home! You just did a long drive. But you're lucky, you have a Mercedes-Benz to enjoy all the way home.

    2. Yes, it is nice to be home. The ride was good and I averaged 38 MPG or 6.4L/100 kms. My total distance was 5,000 kms and total cost for gas was approx. $220.00 CDN. My hip is acting up though and causing me to have a slight limp if I overdo it. Surgery will be Jul/Aug of this year. Cheers ☺
