We moved to Milton!

The first month parked at the cottage on Georgian Bay was enjoyable. The weather remained unusually warm for the season, and my system of drawing water from the lake worked quite well.
We even had an overnight guest one night....Piper the Dog.

Then it snowed.....

We made the decision to move on November 29 to Milton, Ontario, which is a small city just west of Toronto. There is an RV park in in Milton which is open all year, called Milton Heights Campground. The park is under new ownership, and it offers full-hookup sites with 50 amp electricity. The water connections are 4 feet below ground in a concrete well, so they are protected from freezing. If we were spending a long time here, I would heat-trace our water hose. Because we are here only until December 17, I disconnect the hose and use our internal water tank if the temperature goes below freezing.

Temperatures here in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) are considerably milder than further north, and there is MUCH less likelihood of snow.

There are a dozen or so RVers who are staying for the entire winter. Most of them have skirted-in around their unit, to help keep the floors warm and the heating costs under control. Within three weeks, we hope to be in the Deep South, so cold floors should not be an issue.

We are able to store our Honda car at Milton Heights in their secure storage area, for a reasonable fee. This is convenient, as we can pick up our car in May when we return.

Stay tuned....I will post daily as we begin our trip.
