Day 2 Benson AZ

We are making visible progress across the map
We stayed one night in Yuma, which is known for its dry, desert climate, and amazingly, it rained for most of the night! Until about 9:00pm, there was the deafening sound of military jets taking off from the Marine Air Corps base just down the road. A plane took off every couple of minutes, probably doing night-flying training. The RV park was directly under the departure flight path.

Fortunately, the rain stopped around 8:00am, so I didn't have to get wet while preparing for departure.

We left at 10:00am, and drove about 280 miles today, along I-8 through the Sonoran Desert, past Gila Bend, and joined I-10 outside Casa Grande. We will be on I-10 now all the way to Lake City, FL, where we turn south on I-75.

We passed through the city of Tucson, which is one of the cleanest, nicest cities we have traveled through, and pulled into Benson I-10 RV Park at 3:00pm. We were greeted by the friendly park manager, who remembered us from previous trips.

We uncoupled the truck, as we are here for two nights, which will allow us to refuel both diesel tanks, and visit the town of Tombstone, about 30 miles away.
